So once upon a time I was liberal...then I was conservative...then I move to one of the most conservative places in the country and guess what...I'm liberal again!

As Josh would say, "The weather is lovely in Florida...and it's lovlier in Bracketville"

We just beat Syracuse...

I'm not really sure it's totally sunk in yet. But we just beat Syracuse. I'm so tired from being tense. I still can't relax. You don't understand how LOUD the Aggie section was. We were amazing. Ugh...but you can tell that Aggies still aren't really true basketball fans yet. Here are a few examples...

1. There was a Syracuse fan in our section. He was annoying, yes, but he was really just cheering for his team. Annoying or not, I can't blame him. People in our section couldn't believe he would do such a thing...yet there were some Aggie fans in a non-Aggie section doing the same thing and that's apparently different.

2. There's a guy who was sitting behind me who didn't know who Jim Boeheim was...but was trying to taunt him...okay, you can't do that if you had to ask someone who the Syracuse coach is. Hi, he's in the hall of fame. Just stop talking. Stop telling people you're from A&M because you're embarrassing me.

3. People yelling "overrated" with 5 minutes left in the game. First of all, they're not rated. Second of all, these people don't understand that a lot can happen in a game in 1 minute let alone 5. I wanted to hold up a big sign that said "I'm not from Texas and I'm an actual basketball fan."

4. When the other team is yelling "let's go orange" and our fans try to mimic that by saying "let's go aggies"...okay, be creative...don't just take the same chant and change the words...again, embarrassing.

Other than that, my experience was good. The refs let them play and they were pretty good (unlike Big 12 refs). I was so into the game that i didn't realize there were 2 minutes left in the game and we were ahead. I was so stressed. The team is pumped. The great thing about them is that they're so unselfish. And such genuinely good guys. And Coach loves them.

We take on LSU on Saturday around 6. I cannot wait.

The Big Dance & Tennis Tailgating

Sunday afternoon was pretty cool. I've always watched "Selection Sunday" on television. And you know they always show the teams getting excited when they've been selected to go to the NCAA Tourney. To actually be there in the room when the team you work with is selected is totally different. The guys were all so nervous and when they were shown up on the screen in the bracket, they went NUTS. It was so great. They were all so happy.

Sunday morning was also pretty great. We tailgate for college tennis around here. Since today's match started at 11:30, everyone brought brunch foods...and the alcohol was bloody marys, screwdrivers and mimosas. There were probably about 15-20 of us there. It's awesome!

I have a song in my head

It's those damn Black Eyed Peas again... these are the few phrases that I sing over and over again and they won't go away:

-"pump it"
-"louder!"
-"turn it up" (which to some sounds like me singing "Jesus Christ Superstar")

I thought I had gotten rid of it, but I got in Rodney's car today and he was blasting it from a CD. So it's back.
