So once upon a time I was liberal...then I was conservative...then I move to one of the most conservative places in the country and guess what...I'm liberal again!

Happy Holla-days

Santa was good to me this year....

Gilmore Girls Season 5
Alias Season 4
Ellen: Here and Now
Madonna's new CD
Chapelle's Show Season 2

I also just got back from a night with the relatives. I really must say, i have great aunts/uncles/cousins ... we all heard some old familiar stories, like the one where my dad hit my uncle in the head with a shovel or the one where various family members referred to my dad as "the mexican baby" during his childhood. There are a TON of stories about family dogs. My dad told us one about one of the dogs throwing up...and everyone knows that throwing up sound dogs make before they puke. Well, my dad's impression of this on top of the face he was making as he made the noise nearly made me pee my pants because it was so funny. Good times. Here's me and my cousins! :)

Braggin Rights

The Braggin' Rights game is a historical event for people of Missouri and Illinois (unless your name is Beth and you're from Chicago and you apparently don't pay attention to major sporting events). This year was the 25th anniversary of the game between Mizzou and Illinois. The game wasn't really much of an actual game...but it was fun to go and meet up with my friend Amber and hang out w/her friends from Chicago who came down. I thought Amber was the biggest Illinois fan ever, but apparently it's Teri who's the true fanatic.

Of course we drank at the game, I got to wear a shirt that says "We Love Bruce" (the coach), and we went out to Morgan Street on Laclede's Landing after the game.

Here are a few pics from the night...

Mean lady who kept telling Teri to sit down during the game!

For some reason, we have this obsession with "Family Feud" posed pictures (remember how Family Feud used to be like that???)...here we are in front of a MetroLink sign.

If there's one thing College Station has to offer, it's Ann's White Elephant party

I like to pride myself on the fact that I throw a pretty good party once a year in February ... but I'm really starting to think that Ann's White Elephant Christmas Party actually might be the best thing ever.

Every year Ann has this party. I think it started out being pretty tame but it's evolved into something pretty wonderful. The gifts are always very creative and usually pretty lewd. And then at the end of the night, everyone hides the presents somewhere in Ann's house. We usually do other stuff too, like short-sheet her bed and stuff like that. Last year I brought penis pasta and there is STILL some pasta throughout the house. hahaha. This year the winners for best hiding gifts were a huge box of condoms and some "white trash sex coupons" courtesy of Lea. those coupons were EVERYWHERE. The condoms are slowly being found and Ann said she found a can of RED DOG (also courtesy of the Mueschke's) in the shower.

This year was extra special because there was a dance party in the garage this time. People were grinding that should NOT be grinding. Thank God there was no trash can punch this time ... it could have been a lot uglier. I think the best prize of the night was the huge framed picture of Janet Jackson from her "Rythm Nation" days.

So that almost brings Drinkfest to a close...but I still have the russian party next weekend. My liver is almost non-functioning at this point. And then again, i'll be home soon, so who knows when Drinkfest will really end.

32 degrees = No work

Down here in the South people freak out about cold weather, especially if it's below 32 degrees. People think you have to put chains on your tires if it freezes...or that there are special tires up north for places where it snows (like what, tires w/spikes?).

it got down to like 24 last night here and so it got a little icy....so of course they told everyone at the university not to report to work today. what?? I mean, I'm not going to complain, but for real, it's just ice. just drive slower.

DQ ain't just for Dairy Queen

You're fooling yourself if you think that I didn't drink again last night ... a quick stop at Double Quick before the basketball game. I might have been a little beligerent (is that how you spell it? I wouldn't know, i've been drinking too much). The point is, I now feel that i must keep the streak alive...

Drinkfest is apparently still going...

I was half kidding about the Drinkfest thing going on so long but now apparently it's really going to be big (and my liver will suffer tremendously). Let's recap Drinkfest 2005 and show you what's left.

  • Thursday Dec. 1st: Logan's ... out til 3ish ... found keys to a chevy but can't find the chevy.
  • Friday Dec. 2nd: Dinner with the Mueschke's ... on to Bourbon Street ... repeated mention of Anne of Green Gables ... an "I Rule" head accessory, a pink furry hat and pink "Madonna gloves" ... Logan's ... Swedish guys buying shots ... in bed by 4? i think
  • Saturday Dec. 3rd: Fundraiser where it was all you could drink beer ... Salty Dog (I know, i don't need the lecture) ... pink hat again ... home by 3, phone call kept me up til 4
  • Sunday Dec. 4th: I didn't actually drink this day (other than a LOT of water) but I just wanted to mention it since I had to be at the ASS (Aggie Soccer Stadium) at 9 a.m.
  • Monday Dec. 5th: Ozona had $1 margaritas and a friend had a bad day at work ... and don't kid yourself, I saw them making the margaritas and there were several pitchers of WATER added to the tequila and mix.

Just typing all that kind of made me a bit ill for a moment.

What's left is that I have dancing on Thursday at Halo and Ann's Christmas party on Saturday which is never pretty.

Drinkfest has commenced

Last night I went out and drank for free! woohoo! it's night one of Drinkfest 2005. It reminds me of the Big 12 track & field championships a few years ago. i drank every night for a week.

someone in college station is missing a fleece...and also their chevrolet. tody and i found a fleece (which i now have at my apartment b/c i wore it home since it was cold) last night and when we picked up the fleece there were keys in the pocket to some kind of chevrolet. we tried to find it in the parking garage, but no luck.
